empty spaces
an empty space on paper or a blank text box
here in cyberspace
is like waiting for a call that never comes
or a letter that never arrives
or was never even sent
next months check is already spent
and I am struggling to fill the void
here with words
in my life with possessions
positions of power aren't important
but filling the void is all that matters
so here I fill up the box,
I fill the page
with words
to attack the barrenness
with new life
new meaning
and perhaps
a cogent metaphor
