The 37 Hour Date

Before I begin, let me do the math. An average date, that includes a meal and another activity, barring the fact that the couple has been dating for some time already, averages between 3 to 5 hours. 5 being on the long side, even for what can be called a good date. 3 being painfully long for a bad one. This equation in place would give the 37 hour date a ratio of either 12:1 or 7.2:1 meaning that I squeezed in between 7 and 12 dates in one. Mathematical hyperbole aside these 37 hours seem to rush by making them, in reality, seem like a mere 3 hours and change.

I am not going to go into details of my date, but I will say that it was an experience that I have not had before insofar as it was not like getting to know someone new; someone foreign, but catching up with and old friend. Never before have I had the feeling that I have come home. Never before had I felt the feeling that, even for the moment, that I could be the most important thing in another persons life. Never before have I not wanted something to end....

From spending hours in Spencer's laughing at the same dumb joke items, to sharing the same air parked in my jeep looking out over the water in Toms River have I ever felt that something just felt right.

37 hours. An infinitesimally small amount of time compared to the time until we can see one another again. And for the first time, I can say, without any reservations, that it doesn't suck.

Comments:
It truly was the most amazing experience of my life.....37 hours seemed like mere minutes to me. As C said in his comments on my blog, I am not sure I can recommend a 37 hour date to just any two people, but when the right two people connect, the result is pure magic.

Glad to hear that, says Greengirl!
